Why update the OkiOkiSync tool?
Version 3 of the OkiOkiSync tool includes the following improvements:
- Improved resilience: the OkiOkiSync tool could sometimes freeze in certain situations; this has now been fixed.
- Improved security: The OkiOkiSync tool uses certain external components (.NET core, Serilog). The latest version uses more recent, safer versions of these components.
Procedure
- Contact our support team to obtain the link for downloading the latest version.
Stop the OkiOkiSync task in the Task Scheduler (not in the Task Manager). Usually, it is located in an "OkiOki" folder, but it can also be directly in the "Task Scheduler Library".
Go to the installation folder of the OkiOkiSync tool. Usually, this is
c:\OkiOkiSync. If you are not sure, you can always check this by viewing the "properties" of the OkiOkiSync task and looking at the "Actions":- Replace the existing OkiOkiSync.exe with the new version you just downloaded. To be sure you have the correct version, you can check the "Details" in the "Properties" of the file:
Once the OkiOkiSync.exe file has been replaced, you can restart the task:
- To verify that everything went well, you can go to the logs in the installation folder of the OkiOkiSync tool
c:\OkiOkiSync\logs. In the most recent log file, look at the last messages. They should correspond to the time when you restarted the task and should indicate that:- the connection is good: "
Connected as {user name} for accountancy {accountancy name}", - there is access to the file system: "
Access to filesystem succeeded" and - the task is waiting for documents ("
Waiting for documents...")
- the connection is good: "
- There you go. The OkiOkiSync tool has been upgraded to the latest version.
