Issue: When uploading a document via "Take photo" or "Upload," the app repeatedly returns to the "Upload document" page without actually processing the photo. This often happens in a recurring loop: take photo > confirm > back to the start screen.
This issue is usually device-specific (not OkiOki-wide) and is related to Android settings on the affected smartphone.
Step 1: Check app permissions
- Go to Settings > Apps > OkiOki > Permissions
- Make sure the following rights are set to Allow:
- Camera
- Photos and videos (or Storage, depending on Android version)
- Avoid the option "Only while using" if it imposes additional restrictions
Step 2: Disable battery optimisation for OkiOki
Some Android devices automatically interrupt apps when switching between the camera and OkiOki, causing the loop.
- Go to Settings > Apps > OkiOki > Battery
- Select No restrictions (not "Optimised")
Step 3: Clear the app cache
This is different from uninstalling and reinstalling the app and can fix corrupted temporary files.
- Go to Settings > Apps > OkiOki > Storage
- Tap on Clear cache
Step 4: Check the default camera app
If a non-standard camera app (e.g., from the device manufacturer) is active, this can cause conflicts. If possible, test with the standard Android camera set as the default app.
Step 5: Check special storage access (Android 16 and newer devices)
On some devices (especially Samsung, OnePlus and other customised Android layers), there is a separate setting that prevents third-party apps from directly saving photos.
- Go to Settings > Apps > Special access
- Look for the setting related to storage/file access for apps
- Make sure OkiOki has access here
Still no solution?
Contact support and provide us with:
- The exact device model (e.g., Samsung S24, Pixel 9, ...)
- The Android version
- Whether the issue also occurs with "Upload" (instead of only "Take photo")
