OkiOki can only maximize automation for you if you are willing to give up some control and trust in the power of OkiOki. Because one of OkiOki's major advantages is the fact that she monitors your mailbox and follows up on your invoices. For maximum automation, it is best to link your mailbox to OkiOki.
How to link your mailbox?
OkiOki links to your mailbox in 2 ways.
Via oAuth
OAuth (Open Authorization) is an open standard for authorization. It allows users to give a program or website access to their (private) data as stored on another system, without handing over their username and password.
In this way, OkiOki links to GMail and Outlook (Office 365, Hotmail, Outlook.com). OkiOki also redirects you to Google or Microsoft's login page to link your mailbox.
Important information related to Outlook: When you read your mail with MS Outlook, it doesn't automatically mean that your email provider is also Outlook. MS Outlook is an email program that allows you to read the underlying mailboxes of different email providers. So, not only can you read your Office365 mailbox in MS Outlook, but also, for example, a GMail mailbox or a mailbox through Combell. In that case, it is always advisable to check who your actual email provider is. You can do this in MS Outlook in the Account Settings (File > Info > Account Settings). There, you will find an overview of your mailboxes and their type.
Via IMAP
All email providers offer the ability to link your mailbox via IMAP.
To link OkiOki with a mailbox via IMAP, you will need the following information:
- Server name: This is the server for incoming email. For this, use the full name of the server for your email provider, for example mail.emailprovider.com.
- Username: This can be the part of the email address before the @ symbol, like 'frederik' or it can be your full email address, like 'frederik@mycompany.com'. If you use webmail then this is usually also the username you use to log into your webmail.
- Password: The password for your email account.
- Port & SSL: The port number usually depends on whether the connection is encrypted (SSL) or not.
- 143: without SSL. The default port without an encrypted connection. It is not recommended to use this port.
- 993: with SSL. This port is suitable for an encrypted IMAP connection. This is safe and also recommended to use.
For the following email providers, we have already defined the server name and port & SSL ourselves. For these, you thus only have to enter your username and password. We give you some tips about your username and password.
